Shared Motherhood is a method of family building for female same-sex couples where both partners are involved in the conception and gestation of a child. This allows both partners to have a biological connection to the child, as one partner contributes the genetic material and the other partner carries and gives birth to the child. Shared Motherhood can be achieved through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and is a popular option for lesbian couples who want to both be involved in the conception and gestation of their child. **

Fatherhood is not valued as much as motherhood due to traditional gender roles and societal expectations. Historically, mothers have been seen as the primary caregivers and nurturers, while fathers have been expected to be the breadwinners. This has led to a cultural bias that places more importance on the role of mothers in child-rearing. Additionally, there is a lack of support and recognition for fathers in the parenting role, leading to the perception that their contributions are not as significant. However, there is a growing awareness of the importance of involved fatherhood and efforts to challenge these traditional norms. **
